A little change to this week’s newsletter to reflect the current situation during this uncertain period. Challenging times for the community and golfers at the moment. We would like to comfort you with the thought that we are doing all we can to protect you, our members, and all visitors coming to Douglas Golf Club's facilities. At our Golf Club, members are being encouraged to carry on playing golf with the Douglas Golf Club team striving to provide the game in the safest possible environment. We also recognise that the health and well-being of playing this great game benefits all age groups. The course will remain open and members can bring guests with the pro shop OPEN to deal with bookings, golfing essentials and purchase transactions. It is essential where possible that members keep golfing, support the pro shop and the clubhouse to ensure the survival of our outstanding facilities. The pro shop will retain current shop opening hours seven days a week with the following precautions: - Members are requested to keep a two meter distance whilst in the shop and use the hand sanitizer or simply wash your hands before any transaction.
- Credit card transactions would be preferred rather than cash.
- Coaching services will continue and I will still be available for tuition.
All members have access to the Douglas Golf Club booking system which will be a great asset in allowing golfers to keep golfing. Members will be requested to list all players where possible when making bookings, golfers not having a playing partner can speak to the pro shop staff who might be able to help pair you. As government information is liable to change we are monitoring the situation and will react when required. Golf Clubs remain (with care) as close to a ‘safe haven’ as exists, away from this exceptionally tough set of circumstances. Keep calm wash your hands and keep playing Golf...
