Golf report
I have to admit that I am not great on computers, one of the things that I have yet to muster is how to “Copy and Paste”, if I were able to do this skill then I could have saved myself some time and simply copied last week’s report as once again we experienced the same weather conditions as the week before, having said that, at least some of the guys did manage to get out for a game on Tuesday. Whilst it was not the largest field that ever went out on a Club night, I am sure they all enjoyed the chance to get a game in. In second place was Stephen Riley, his score of 29pts was good enough to push his usual sparring partner, Peter Langridge into third. I wonder if the Handicap Secretary will have a look at Barry Skillicorn`s Handicap as once again he was in the prizes, his score of 35pts was good enough to take first position on the day.
Once again there a much-reduced field on Saturday. I suspect that all the guys who finished in the top three all went out in the morning, as by lunch time conditions became almost unplayable. In third spot was young Daniel Ash with 36pts, second place went to Phillip Quayle, his score of 38pts was matched by Brain Leece, with Brian taking top spot due to countback.
The conditions were no better on Sunday, so again, only a small band of hardy souls ventured out. In second was David Finney with a score of 28pts. Derek Neild finished on top with 30pts.
As I don`t have much to report on this will give me a chance to remind everyone to get their names down for the Captain’s Dinner that takes place on the 27th of March. It is always a brilliant night; it would be great to see a full house so we can all show support to our Captain.
I am off on Holiday for a few weeks, so Paul from the shop will doing the report, apparently my other half has said that whilst we are away, she has booked me the chance to swim with sharks, I suppose it is better than playing against them every week. Hopefully I will see you all soon.
