Golf report
A funny thing happened as I sat down to do my weekly report, as usual, I put on the radio to help me to get in the mood, when the song that came on was “wipeout” by the Safari`s, and I thought to myself, that has just described what has happened to all the Golf Competitions that were due to be played at the course this week. The combination of Storm Ciara and Dennis did their worst, and this resulted in the cancellation of Club night on Tuesday, as well as both Saturday`s AM/AM and the final round of the Absolute Scaffolding Winter League on Sunday.
I have to say though, whilst we will all be feeling sorry for ourselves for missing out on the Golf our thoughts should be with the poor people who got flooded out in the UK. As I don`t have a lot to report on it will give the opportunity to say a big thank you to Absolute Scaffolding for once again sponsoring the Winter League. They have been terrific for years and we will hope that they keep it going in the future.
The forecast does not look to bad for the weekend, hopefully, it will be decent on Sunday as we have our traditional end to the Winter League when we hold a 4 Man AM/AM. This is a shotgun start with a carvery meal afterwards, it is not too late to get your name down for this, you can give Paul a call at the Pro Shop.
See you at the weekend. The Grousebeater.
